Progression and world tiers

Your world tier rises each time you offer a boss trophy on Minerva's altar: the Guardian's Eye, then the Granite Tooth, then the Core Vessel. Each tier unlocks buildings and gear, and decides which raids and citizen requests can appear.

The Minerva chain

The world starts at tier 0. Minerva hands out three quests in order, and each one asks for a single trophy from a boss, offered on an altar. Offering it completes the quest and moves the whole world up a tier, for every player on the server. Nothing else raises the tier: god levels, player skills and town size have no effect on it.

Tier 4

The files define a tier 4 reward, and the game checks for it, but no quest grants it in the current version. Its unlocks are waiting there for a future update:

Buildings: Carpenter's Workshop - Level 4, Insula - Level 3.

What the tier changes
  • Random raids only come from your current tier's pool, and there are no tier 0 raids, so no random raid comes until tier 1. Each tier swaps the pool for harder raids (see Raids).
  • Citizens only ask for items from the request list of your current tier, so higher tiers bring new requests and better rewards (see Citizens).
  • Reaching tier 1 starts Pyzifax's scouts spawning in daytime. Each one drops his declaration of war, and beating that siege earns the Malformed Satyr Horn for Minerva's side quest.
Days and nights

A full day lasts 20 real minutes. Night runs from 22:00 to 05:00, about 5 minutes and 50 seconds of real time, and a new day begins at 05:00. The morning is when the game rolls for raids, hands out citizen requests and feeds your citizens. When every player in the world is asleep, the clock jumps to 06:00 the next day and the game saves.
